Essential Oils were mankind's first medicine. We know that priests and physicians have been using essentials oils for thousands of years. This has been discovered through Egyptian hieroglyphics and Chinese manuscripts. Egyptian temples were dedicated to the production and blending of the oils. Recipes were recorded on the walls in hieroglyphics.

There are many references to essential oils in the Bible. There were 188 references. Oils such as Frankincense, rosemary, myrrh, hyssop and spikenard were used for anointing and healing the sick.

The three wise men presented the Christ child with essential oils. The oils were frankincense and myrrh. In the New Testament of the Bible, Jesus was anointed with spikenard oil. The oils of spikenard were very precious. Mary took a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly and anointed the feet of Jesus. The house was filled with the odor of the ointment.

What are PURE (Grade A) Essential Oils?
Essential oils are volatile liquids that are distilled from plants. The parts of the plants that are used are parts such as seeds, bark, leaves, stems, roots, fruit, and flowers. The purity of the oil is determined by its chemical constituents. These constitutes can be affected by many variables such as the parts of the plants that were used, soil condition, fertilizer , organic or chemical, what region, growth, climate, time of harvest or distillation process. As you can see, there can be many variables in the production of the essential oils. Low pressure and low temperature are also keys to maintaining the ultimate fragrance and the therapeutic value of the oils.

As we begin to understand the power of essential oils in the use of personal, holistic health care, we need to comprehend the necessity for obtaining the purest oils possible. There can be no substitutions. You always want to purchase essentials from a reliable source. Any thing less than pure, may not produce the desired results. In some cases can be extremely toxic. Producing essential oils that are pure can be very costly as it may require several hundred pounds to extract one pound of pure essential oil.
